How to Fix Amazon Listing Suppression (Step-by-Step Guide)

Your Amazon listing is suppressed and sales have stopped. This guide explains how to find the cause and fix it fast before you lose more revenue.

If your Amazon listing is suppressed, sales stop immediately - your product disappears from search results and customers can no longer purchase it. Every hour the suppression is unresolved costs you real money. This guide walks you through exactly how to find suppressed listings, diagnose the cause, and fix them as fast as possible.

## Step 1: Find your suppressed listings in Seller Central

Log into Seller Central and navigate to Inventory > Manage All Inventory. In the filter dropdown, select "Suppressed" to see all currently suppressed ASINs. Alternatively, go to Inventory > Fix Stranded Inventory or check the Listing Quality Dashboard under Growth > Listing Quality.

Amazon also sends email notifications for some suppressions, but these are inconsistent and often delayed - don't rely on email as your primary detection method.

## Step 2: Identify the suppression reason

Click on the suppressed listing and look for the suppression reason code. Common reasons include:

**Image violations** - Your main product image doesn't meet Amazon's requirements. The main image must show the product on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), must not include text, logos, or watermarks, and must be at least 1000px on the longest side to enable zoom.

**Missing required attributes** - Amazon's catalog requires specific attributes for each product category. If a required field is empty or invalid (product dimensions, material type, target audience), the listing can be suppressed. Go to Edit Listing and check for any fields marked with a warning or error.

**Pricing violation** - Amazon may suppress a listing if the price is far outside their "fair pricing" expectations - either too high relative to other channels or too low (potentially a pricing error). Check your current live price against your intended price and your price history.

**Content policy violations** - Listings flagged for prohibited claims (certain health claims, superlatives, or restricted keywords) will be suppressed. Review your title, bullet points, and description for any flagged language.

**Catalog data conflict** - If another seller has submitted conflicting product data for the same ASIN, Amazon may suppress the listing pending review. This is common when brand registry status is disputed.

## Step 3: Fix the root cause

For image issues: upload a compliant replacement image through Edit Listing > Images. Changes typically take 15 minutes to 4 hours to process.

For missing attributes: fill in all required fields and save. Some attribute changes require a flat-file upload if the field isn't editable through the standard UI.

For pricing violations: correct the price through Manage Pricing or your repricer. If you're using a repricing tool, check that it hasn't pushed your price outside acceptable bounds.

For content violations: edit the affected copy, remove prohibited claims, and save. For persistent violations, open a case with Seller Support referencing the specific ASIN.

## Step 4: Confirm reinstatement

After making the fix, refresh the Manage Inventory page. Status should change from Suppressed to Active within a few hours. If the suppression persists after 24 hours, open a Seller Support case with the ASIN, the fix you applied, and a request to manually review the listing.

## How to prevent future suppressions

The main challenge with listing suppression is detection speed. Most sellers don't notice a suppression until they see a revenue dip - by which point the damage is already done. Automated monitoring tools like Revnoxa connect to your Amazon account via SP-API and detect listing status changes in real time, creating an incident and alerting your team within minutes of a suppression - not days later when you notice the sales drop.
